There is nowhere quite like Portmerion, North Wales’ world-famous Italianate coastal town. And probably no-one quite like the architect who conceived it, Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. Here we present a short but very rare clip of the elderly Clough Williams-Ellis discussing how the Welsh manor house Plas Yn Rhiw was purchased by the Keating sisters with Thames’ TV’s Alan Hargreaves in 1972.
For a great account of the life of Clough Williams-Ellis you could a lot worse than tracking down a copy of his autobiography, Architect Errant.
